Cyber Security Goals

Every business must have these goals to stay secure.

Confidentiality: When running a business, you will have access to data such as employees’ personal information, customers’ payment information, proprietary business information and other information. This data has value and often a target for cyber criminals. As a business owner, it is your responsibility to keep this data from being misused and accessed by unauthorized people. This data must be kept confidential when stored and transmitted over a network.

Integrity: When data is stored or transmitted over a network, it must be protected from unauthorized modification.

Availability: For I.T. systems and data to be useful, it must be accessible to its intended users at the required time in a timely and uninterrupted manner.

Cyber attacks are designed to breach one or more of the above goals.
